A proposed class action settlement has been reached in the California Casualty Data Incident Settlement (Mohammed Amin, et al.) over a targeted cyberattack on California Casualty's computer systems that occurred in September 2025 and allegedly exposed private information, including financial account numbers and payment card numbers. California Casualty denies that it did anything wrong and the Court has not decided who is right. According to the official settlement website and its FAQ, class members may claim a one-time $50.00 cash payment instead of any other payments, or reimbursement of documented out-of-pocket losses up to $4,000.00, plus credit monitoring with $1 million of financial fraud insurance. The notification mailing went out 8/17/2026, the opt-out and objection deadlines are November 4, 2026, the Claim Deadline is November 16, 2026, and the Final Approval Hearing is set for December 4, 2026. Class Counsel will ask the Court to approve $168,000.00 in fees and $3,000.00 service awards for each class representative.
