Background
A proposed class action settlement has been reached in the Dairy Farmers of America Data Incident Settlement, pending in the District Court of Wyandotte County, Kansas (Case No. WY-2026-CV-000143), over a data security incident at DFA in June 2025 that allegedly compromised class members' private information. DFA denies that it did anything wrong and the Court has not decided who is right. According to the official settlement website and its FAQ, class members may claim a cash payment expected to be $55.00, which may be smaller depending on the total claims filed, or reimbursement of documented out-of-pocket losses of up to $4,500.00, plus credit monitoring with $1 million of financial fraud insurance. There is an aggregate cap of $475,000.00 on the cash payments, and if the total value of claimed payments exceeds that amount, everyone's payments are reduced pro rata.
