The lawsuit alleged Furman Foods failed to implement reasonable cybersecurity measures to protect sensitive information on its systems from a targeted October 2024 cyberattack that exposed names, addresses, and Social Security numbers of individuals whose information was compromised in the incident.

All United States residents whose personal information was potentially compromised in the October 2024 data breach affecting Furmano’s, including all who received notice of the incident.

Up to $300 for documented ordinary out-of-pocket losses, plus up to $2,000 for documented extraordinary losses from identity theft or fraud; alternatively, a $35 flat cash payment with no proof required; plus free credit monitoring.

Furman Foods Inc., doing business as Furmano’s, agreed to a settlement to resolve a class action lawsuit (Lawrence Hannity, Jr., v. Furman Foods Inc., Case No. CV-25-528, filed March 26, 2025 in Pennsylvania) that alleged the canned goods manufacturer failed to protect sensitive information in its care from an October 2024 data breach. The settlement received preliminary approval from the court on June 3, 2026. Class members can receive up to $300 for documented out-of-pocket losses incurred between October 10, 2024 and September 30, 2026, reimbursement for up to five hours of lost time at $20/hour, up to $2,000 for documented extraordinary losses, or a $35 flat cash payment with no proof required. Claims must be submitted by September 30, 2026.
