A class action settlement has been reached in In re Jack's Family Restaurants, LP Data Breach Litigation, Case No. 2:25-cv-01861. According to a notice filed with the Maine Attorney General, Jack's Family Restaurants detected suspicious activity on August 10, 2025 involving a cloud-based system used to store employee information, and employee names and Social Security numbers were exposed. Jack's denies wrongdoing and the Court has not decided who is right. The official settlement website states that the maximum reimbursement for documented losses is $4,000; class members may instead request a $20 cash payment in lieu of (or in addition to) a documented-loss claim, or a $55 cash payment in lieu of both documented losses and lost time. Claim Forms must be submitted online or postmarked no later than November 30, 2026; the deadline to exclude yourself is November 13, 2026, and the Final Approval Hearing is set for December 15, 2026. Class Counsel will ask the Court to approve fees of up to $351,000.
