A proposed class action settlement has been reached with Mortgage Investors Group, Inc. over a cyberattack on MIG's computer systems that occurred in December 2024 and allegedly implicated class members' private information. MIG denies that it did anything wrong and the Court has not decided who is right; class members may have received a previous notice directly from MIG. According to the official settlement website and its FAQ, class members may claim a one-time $45.00 cash payment instead of any other payments, or reimbursement of documented out-of-pocket losses up to $2,000.00, plus credit monitoring with $1 million of financial fraud insurance. MIG's obligation is capped at $925,000.00, and if the total value of valid claims exceeds that amount, everyone's payments are reduced pro rata. The notification mailing went out 8/7/2026, the opt-out and objection deadlines are October 20, 2026, the Final Approval Hearing is set for November 10, 2026 at 11:00 a.m., and Claim Forms are due no later than November 19, 2026.
