A cyberattack announced by 23andMe on October 6, 2023 resulted in the theft of Personal Information in its databases concerning approximately 6.4 million United States residents.

U.S. residents who were 23andMe customers at any time between May 1, 2023 and October 1, 2023 and who received notice from 23andMe that their personal information was compromised.

Up to $10,000 for Extraordinary Claims; up to $165 for Health Information Claims; an estimated $100 for Statutory Cash Claims; plus 5 years of Privacy & Medical Shield + Genetic Monitoring.

A settlement has been reached with 23andMe, Inc. (now known as Chrome) in a class action over the October 2023 cyberattack that exposed the personal information of roughly 6.4 million U.S. residents. The settlement provides tiered cash payments (Extraordinary Claims up to $10,000, Health Information Claims up to $165, an estimated $100 for Statutory Cash Claims) and five years of Privacy & Medical Shield + Genetic Monitoring. The class notice was originally filed in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California and is now pending in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Missouri as In re: Chrome Holding Co., et al. Class members who take no action remain bound by the settlement.
