A proposed class action settlement has been reached in the Mental Health Association Data Incident Settlement, pending in the Superior Court of Hampden County, Massachusetts (Campbell et al.). The case concerns allegations regarding a cyberattack on MHA's computer systems that occurred in November 2024 and allegedly compromised class members' private information. MHA denies that it did anything wrong and the Court has not decided who is right. Per the official settlement website and its FAQ, class members who received notice are entitled to benefits, including a one-time $40.00 cash payment instead of any other cash payment option, reimbursement of documented out-of-pocket losses up to $5,000.00, up to three hours of lost time at $25.00 per hour ($75.00 maximum), and identity theft protection with $1 million in insurance; there is a $300,000.00 cap on these benefits. The notification mailing went out 8/21/2026, the claim and objection deadlines are November 19, 2026, and the Final Approval Hearing is set for December 15, 2026.
