An August 2025 targeted cyberattack on Institute for Human Resources and Services' computer systems allegedly exposed private information including names, dates of birth, Social Security numbers/ITIN, driver's license or state ID numbers, medical record numbers and medical history/treatment information.

Up to $2,000 for documented out-of-pocket losses (August 13, 2025 to December 2, 2026), or a one-time $45 cash payment instead, plus two years of credit monitoring with $1 million in fraud insurance.

A proposed settlement resolves Tereska v. Institute for Human Resources and Services, Case No. 2026-02353 (Court of Common Pleas of Luzerne County, Pennsylvania), over an August 2025 data breach. Class members may claim two years of CyEx Financial Shield Complete credit monitoring plus either reimbursement of up to $2,000 in documented losses or a flat $45 cash payment. The Claim deadline is December 2, 2026, and the opt-out/objection deadline is November 2, 2026. Class Counsel has requested $120,000 in fees and a $1,500 service award, both paid by IHRS. Simpluris is the Settlement Administrator.
